Bankā€™s Pass Stress Test With Ease šŸ›

This week we had the Federal Reserveā€™s Stress Test. What is this? For simplicity: Itā€™s an annual economic analysis used to determine whether a bank has enough capital to survive extremely adverse economic or financial conditions. These tests began as a result of the 2008 financial crisis.

what is the stress test

Per the Fed, ā€œthis year, the supervisory severely adverse scenario is characterized by a severe global recession accompanied by a period of heightened stress in commercial and residential real estate, as well as corporate debt marketsā€.

Here are the banks that participated this year ā†“

Stress test which banks

Main Takeaway: All 23 of ā€œthe U.S. banks included in the Fedā€™s stress test weathered a severe recession scenario while continuing to lend to consumers and corporations.ā€
